Fruit and Vegetable Sector
Activities Carried Out
Agricultural research activities focus on studying the best conditions for increasing productivity and quality of crops, with a specific focus on small fruits.
In the Rieti area, in fact, there is a significant production vocation for these products, which are part of a favorable environmental context. For this purpose, a plant ecophysiology laboratory has been set up to allow in-depth study of plant vegetative development and physiological aspects through detailed measurements and laboratory analysis in a controlled environment.
This state-of-the-art infrastructure allows researchers to monitor the behavior of plants in response to various climatic and environmental factors, thereby improving knowledge on how to optimize growing conditions.
In addition, the laboratory delves into propagation techniques of herbaceous and tree species, providing concrete support to nursery supply chains in the Rieti region to ensure the production of high-quality plant material. Through these activities, it aims to strengthen the entire local agricultural system, promoting innovation and sustainability.
