Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW)
Activities Carried Out
Research activities focus on the development of technologically advanced procedures for the valorization of materials from the demolition of artifacts and sites affected by seismic events. These activities aim to define innovative methods for theuse of demolished materials in both architectural and structural settings.
In the architectural field, research aims to recover valuable materials that can be reused and classified based on their historical and artistic value. On the structural level, the goal is the creation of recovered aggregates for the production of new concrete.
In addition to materials, research also extends to the reuse of soils already subject to human intervention, thus reducing land consumption and contributing to the protection of natural resources. This integrated approach not only promotes a reduction in the use of raw materials, but also supports a circular economy vision, encouraging a sustainable development model. With such solutions, we aim to generate concrete benefits for both theenvironment and society, with a view to responsible, long-term development.
