On the occasion of the launch of the PhD Scholarship created in collaboration with the University of Tuscia, Dr. Fabio Martinelli, partner and CEO of Dimar Group S.p.A., shared some reflections and insights on the project and the value of the initiative.
The project, funded by Dimar Group S.p.A., is part of the PhD program in Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods, under the coordination of Professor Alessandro Ruggieri and Professor Stefano Poponi. The PhD candidate involved is Chiara Cardona, supported by Dr. Yuri Gori, Sustainability and HSE Manager at the company.
During the interview, Martinelli emphasized the strategic value of this synergy between academia and business: “For us, it is very important to carry on this collaboration, which strengthens our commitment to an increasingly sustainable and transparent business model.”
The goal of the project is to develop a digital sustainability reporting model, specifically applied to the fashion sector, in line with the latest European and Italian regulations.
“Launching this project,” said Martinelli, “represents an important step forward in our sustainability journey. Collaborating with the University of Tuscia allows us to combine research and business operations, investing in skills that will have a real impact in our sector.”
Among the first activities initiated in 2024 are the analysis of the company’s Sustainability Report and participation in a study day on circular economy and ESG standards integration, held at the university on March 27. During the event, Yuri Gori presented Dimar Group’s sustainability journey.
Over the course of three years, the project will be developed in three main phases: context analysis and definition of objectives, development of the sustainable reporting model, and finally evaluation of the results and creation of the digital model.
“For us, research is a strategic lever,” concluded the CEO, “and we strongly believe in collaboration with institutions and universities. We have already shared several projects with the University of Tuscia, which is an important point of reference for our growth.”
